Check out the video below to see how I surprised my son with his first Koala Crate box

Toddlers are a handful and keeping them busy is key to having a successful day. I love to keep my son busy with educational activities. He loves to play!  Learning something at the same time is a bonus. Recently we were selected to receive a Koala Crate from Kiwi Co. Kiwi Crates are monthly projects children receive in the mail with STEAM related activities geared towards specific ages groups. We received the Koala Crate designed for ages 3 to 4. The theme of the Koala Crate was FARM. This is perfect because we just moved into a farm-style house, with a wagon and hay in the front yard and everything! My son was so excited when he went to the mailbox and there was a package for him!

Our Koala Crate was easy to open and included instructions, a themed magazine, and everything we needed to complete our activities. The first activity was creating a vegetable garden. It came with pipe cleaners and beads to create our vegetables and a garden box to plant the vegetables, along with stickers. My son is not a big coloring book type of kid, he is more into hands-eye coordination type of activities. This was perfect for him. He loved putting the beads on the piper cleaners to create his "vegetables."  After we completed his garden, we played the harvest matching game and pulled out the vegetables to make pairs of radishes, turnips, carrots, and potatoes.

The next activity was creating barnyard finger puppets. The felt puppets were pre-cut with the shape of the farm animal and felt stickers were included in order to create the front and back of the animals. I loved my son's placement of his stickers and how they were not perfect. We had the best time playing with the finger puppets and making animal sounds.

The last activity was creating the barn tote. This was my favorite thing in the Koala Crate. It came with a durable cardboard barn, a felt handle, and velcro stickers. It was great because he can reuse the activities to play with at a future time and the tote was great for keeping his projects all together Not to mention, it was adorable, with the barn on the outside and a grassy farm design on the inside for playtime.

My favorite thing about the Kiwi Crate was how seamless the projects were geared towards my son’s age level. The activities were very age appropriate. I also loved how the crate included optional games and activities you can do with items from home. The crate was the perfect size and included everything we needed to complete the fun tasks. No scissors or glue were needed. It took us about an hour to complete everything in the crate and there is probably another hour or two of additional play time with the different games and activities included in the instructions book and magazine.
